![]() So I keep thinking why not try something madcow like with shooting for 1x3 reps on friday, then 1x5 on monday and then again upping the weight for 1x3 reps on the next friday. I think starting strength already wants you to take a light squat day wednesday at some point. Well, yeah, doesnt sound too light if you say it like that Shouldnt I still be able to progress a little like that when Ive been doing 3x5 before? And then when I REALLY stall again I would completely switch to a real intermediate program like madcow? Or would I probably just stall immediately and be an idiot for not switching to madcow earlier? Should I stop at this point and switch completely at this point? Weight is added each workout in consistent amounts. Each set is performed with the same weight for each exercise. StrongLifts 5×5 is a weight lifting routine where you train just three days a week. Then lets say I REALLY stall at squatting 100kg 3x5 a little later. If you’re reading this I’m going to assume you are new to lifting, so let’s start from the beginning. ![]() Lets say I plan on squatting 95kg 3x5 come Friday (I do). What I was thinking was pretty much this: I guess the transition appears a little huge because I suppose youd go from 3x5 to 92% of your 1x5 weight!? But maybe I shouldnt question the program as much as I should figure out the correct way to finish a noob gain progression. ![]() Click to expand.Well, yeah, doesnt sound too light if you say it like that ![]()
